As a full-time copywriter for a digital media agency, I’ve learned the language of how people talk about channels – and the hundreds of acronyms we take for granted.

The thing is, that’s one of the biggest problems in the book – taking things for granted.

Both in my business and in my personal life, I’ve been challenged to integrate this lesson – never take anything for granted.

So I’ve worked with internal agency stakeholders and clients with open ears when it comes to finding the right voice and POV to make the creative really work. It’s about asking all the right questions and paying attention to the answers.

Some of the professionals and businesses that I’ve had the pleasure of serving include:

Before my life as a digital media agency copywriter, I worked as a freelance writer and bartender – and in another past life, I was a performing guitarist. My everyday clients required my attention – to listen, empathize and serve. Even before I became a copywriter, I was spending my time deep in voice-of-customer research – listening to my bar patrons discuss everything from politics to the economy to pop culture to the number of bottles of ketchup in the condiment caddy. Spoiler alert: There were always three bottles of ketchup in every caddy.
